Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of The Hideout community website, our Discord server, our Discord bot (Hideout Assistant), and our in-game servers (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must meet Discord's minimum age requirement for your region and comply with the Discord Terms of Service. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

2. Accounts

You access the website by logging in with your Discord account. You are responsible for keeping your Discord account secure. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or our community rules.

3. Acceptable Use

When using the Services, you agree not to:

• Break our community rules, harass or abuse others, or post prohibited content (spam, scams, hate speech, NSFW, or unauthorized advertising).
• Cheat, exploit bugs, use unauthorized modifications, or interfere with the operation or security of the Services.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
• Impersonate staff or other members, or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Use the Services for any unlawful purpose.

4. Applications & Whitelisting

Whitelist, gang, business, job, and other applications are reviewed at the sole discretion of our staff. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval, and decisions are final unless staff choose to reconsider.

5. Purchases & Virtual Items

• Store purchases are processed by Tebex and are subject to Tebex's checkout terms.
• Purchases grant access to virtual items, perks, or subscriptions within our community. These have no real-world monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are non-transferable except as we expressly allow.
• Subscriptions renew until cancelled; you can cancel a subscription at any time, and it remains active until the end of the current billing period.
• Perks are provided "as is" and may change as the server evolves. All sales are final except where required by law or the applicable refund policy at checkout.
• Chargebacks or payment disputes may result in the loss of purchased perks and a permanent ban from the Services.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you submit (such as tickets, applications, and messages). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive license to store, display, and use it as needed to operate and improve the Services (for example, routing a ticket to staff or curating a helpful answer into our support knowledge base). You are responsible for the content you submit and confirm you have the right to share it.

7. Moderation & Enforcement

We may remove content, and warn, mute, kick, or ban members at our discretion to keep the community safe and enforce these Terms and our rules. Enforcement decisions are made by staff and may be appealed through our ban-appeal process where available.

8. Third-Party Services

The Services rely on third parties including Discord, Tebex, Steam, and our AI provider (Anthropic). Your use of those services is also governed by their respective terms, and we are not responsible for their availability or actions.

9. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any in-game progress, items, or data will be preserved.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Hideout and its staff will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, virtual items, or progress arising from your use of the Services.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time for violations of these Terms or our rules. You may stop using the Services at any time.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above, and your continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
